Cambridgeshire Live reports: With Jesus Green Lido set to reopen on April 2, swimmers are now looking forward to getting back in the water.
The outdoor swimming pool in Cambridge, is one of the few remaining lidos in the country.
But there's something rather unusual about Jesus Green Lido.
At 91 metres in length but just 14 metres in width, it's the longest outdoor pool in the UK - and with good reason.
Opened in 1923, designers wanted the pool to mimic swimming in the nearby River Cam, hence why the lido is significantly longer than it is wide. Only Tooting Bec Lido in London competes in length - also measuring at 91 metres - but at 30 metres in width, it is twice as wide as Jesus Green Lido.
