Swimming to the Office Along the Yangtze River

“Peng Yong, 43, a manager

of a Chongqing securities company in Chongqing, grew up along the Yangtze River, and three years ago he adopted the habit of swimming to work every day. He first swims for 30 minutes and then he walks another 20 minutes to his workplace. He keeps his clothes dry in a waterproof bag during his swim.”

“Peng’s routine has been constant for the last three years. If the weather’s nice, he walks home. Without the river shortcut, it takes about 2 hours, and covers 12 kilometers.”

“Peng says he had dropped from 98 kilograms to 75 kilograms after exercising, and has swum or walked nearly 3000 kilometers since last year.”
