The Evening Standard reports: Thousands of Londoners will be able to swim in the Serpentine as part of the “greatest swimming festival in the world”.
Up to 6,000 swimmers are expected to dive into Hyde Park’s lake in a new open-water event on Saturday, September 24. Participants must complete the one-mile challenge in a wet-suit or tow-float and will be released into the water in 18 groups throughout the day.
Elite swimmers from around the world will descend on the lake on the Sunday for a 5km swim and the British Open Water Swimming Championships over 3.2km.
