Hayle Outdoor Bathing Place 1936-39
Hayle Lido was constructed for swimmers in one of the tidal pools adjacent to the town on a site that is soon to be redeveloped (behind Jewson's on Carnsew Road) It opened in 1936 and closed with the deceleration of the Second World War. Another Lido opened in the 1970's but is under threat. Historic wild swimming venue.

Lady Basset's Baths; six tidal man-made pools at Portreath Beach. Carved out of the rock at different levels and shaped liked baths. One is located in a cave, accessed by a metal ladder. They were built between 1780 and 1800 for Lady Frances Basset under by her father as sea-water bathing would be beneficial for his daughter's health.
A swimming pool at the eastern side of the beach was formed from a natural rock pool by the addition of a retaining wall.
